Victoria Literacy Centre

Educational Institute for Primary Learners

Welcome to Victoria Literacy Centre Online!

Principal’s Welcome

Our mission is to provide opportunities for students to become lifelong learners who think critically and strive to reach their full potential while maintaining mental and physical health. Our goal is that all Victoria Literacy Centre students will grow to be resilient, productive, and contributing members of their communities. As your Principal, I understand that our mission cannot be achieved without the support and collaboration of our families and community. We are ready to continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections.

It is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors - teachers, students, families, and community members - feel welcomed and valued. This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive and nurturing environment.

My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to request a call back at (868-272-1987) or email me using the address victorialiteracytt@gmail.com to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.

I look forward to sharing your child’s school journey with you.

Alina Lewis

Principal

 A School for Families

To support holistic development among our students and their families, VLC partners with the Lead Consultant of ALEMACSS & Associates, Alicia Halls, to provide guidance and student support to our students, parents, and team members. Guidance and counseling sessions include individual, group, and classwork to provide both an intervention and prevention service. The focus of school counseling is enhancing the students' development, assisting with the development of enabling school culture, and empowering students toward positive change.

Building blocks for success

A successful literacy centre is about much more than teaching. While good teaching and learning are crucial, the administration that underpins it is key to providing a well-rounded education that encompasses the whole child. Effective administration and operations support an education that goes well beyond imparting knowledge.

Our administrative team ensures that students’ daily needs are met. Beyond the day-to-day, the administrative team is the one responsible for recording, checking, and analyzing student data, so they can enable those responsible for both learning and well-being to tailor their approach to the needs of the student.

As we collaborate to empower students for success, our administrative function:

1 Allows Teachers To Focus On Teaching

Administrators ensure data is entered in a timely manner, presented to teachers, and the office of the principal, in an easy-to-use fashion and combine different datasets into one effective plan. Teachers, then, can focus on their lessons and prioritize student achievement, instead of getting tied up with the administrative load required to access such important information.

2 Administration Promotes Accountability

Parents select a private institute because they believe it will provide their children with the best possible education and start their future careers. School administrators play a key role in managing communications with parents via setting up and managing reporting procedures. They also ensure that parents have easy access to their child’s information by coordinating academic review and well as general review meetings.

3 Administration Informs Decisions

Good data supports the vision and decision-making of the school leadership team. Effective administration extracts and analyzes key data to inform our school’s ability to provide prompt updates and facilitate a seamless transition from one academic year to another.
