VLC BEHAVIOUR POLICY

We intend to provide your child with a safe and secure environment. We attempt to create a comfortable and fun atmosphere that will make your child look forward to attending our classes which will be an enriched dynamic learning experience each day. We are here to ensure that all children have a positive experience.

 

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Please keep in mind that certain behaviours will not be tolerated. Please take a look at the guidelines of behaviour below with your child before attending classes.

Respect the mental and emotional well-being of other students:

Bullying or harassment is defined as any physical or verbal act or conduct that is dehumanizing, intimidating, hostile, humiliating, threatening, and is likely to:

1. Place a student in reasonable fear of the student’s person or property

2. Cause actual harm to the student’s person or property

3. Cause harm to the student’s mental health



Bullying includes but is not limited to:

Communication written, electronic, or verbal that amounts to threats, teasing, or social isolation

Any student who engages in bullying may be subject to disciplinary action

Students are expected to immediately report incidents of bullying to the principal or staff of VLC. Any reports of bullying made to parents must be forwarded to the administration at SRC.

Students can rely on staff to promptly investigate each complaint of bullying thoroughly and confidentially.

The use of profanity or inappropriate language will NOT be allowed.

VLC reserves the right to report any breach of this term to the relevant authorities if there is a fear of immediate danger to the lives and safety of the staff and other students of VLC.


Students are to respect tutors and auxiliary staff. Disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated; this includes any behaviour or attitude which conflicts with values associated with VLC standards.

Students' work areas should be kept clean and tidy at all times, to discourage distractions.

Students are not to attend classes in any clothing that conflicts with the dress code of VLC. This includes any sleeveless or spaghetti strap tops, tops that expose the midriff or cleavage area, vest, shorts pants, mini-skirts or dress, leggings or tights, or tight clothing.


 



Parent Code of Conduct

Parents are to observe the dress code mentioned below while attending virtual meetings and / or physical functions of VLC.

• No sleeveless or spaghetti straps tops or dresses

• No tops that expose the midriff or cleavage area

• No vests, short pants, or mini dresses

• No leggings or tights

Parents are discouraged from participating in students' virtual sessions, unless as an aide for a challenged learner

Parents are to direct children to remain in their virtual classroom as per their timetable

The use of profanity or inappropriate language will NOT be tolerated.
